Portmap 是為RPC 程序服務(wù)的。 每一個(gè)RPC server程序啟動(dòng)的時(shí)候要向portmap程序注冊(cè)。這樣portmap程序就知道這些RPC server監(jiān)聽(tīng)在哪個(gè)端口。 而RPC client在發(fā)起連接向portmap發(fā)起查詢(xún)，知道了想要查詢(xún)的RPC server的監(jiān)聽(tīng)端口后再去連接server。這就是portmap的工作。 所以portmap要在RPC server啟動(dòng)之前啟動(dòng)。

Portmap從3,4版本開(kāi)始叫做 rpcbind。 通過(guò)下面的命令可以看到portmap或者叫rpcbind中記錄的內(nèi)容：
