Remember that “all things are possible to the one who
believes.” (Mark 9:23)
Remember that “what is impossible with men is possible
with God.” (Luke 18:27)
Remember “whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you
have anything against anyone; so that your Father also who is
in heaven may forgive you your transgressions.” (Mark 11:25)
Set your mind on forgiveness with this person or these
people, and if they lash out at you remember not to respond to
them in the same way, but only in the love of God. “…love
bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things;
endures all things…” (1 Cor. 13) As a Christian you always
have the ability to operate in love because “God’s love has
been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit Who has
been given to us.” (Rom. 5:5)
Ask God to give you specific wisdom and strategies
regarding how to pray for this person or group, and ask Him to
help you see them through His eyes as you pray.
Ask Him for wisdom for anything that you should
specifically do other than pray to bring this person or people
into the Kingdom.
Pray in faith, believing that you receive when you pray.
(Matt. 21:22)
Pray to the Fatherin the name of Jesus.
(John 15:16)
Pray for yourself for perseverance and encouragement.
(Rom. 15:5)
Speak things that are not as though they were. (Rom.
4:17)
Don’t just pray for Godto remove hindrances and
obstacles—youspeak directly to them just like Jesus did to the fig
tree and believe that you’ll receive the same results. (Mark
11:13-14; 20-25)
Remember that “l(fā)ife and death are in the power of the
tongue.” (Pr. 18:21) Ask the Father to set a guard over your
mouth and keep watch over the door of your lips, that you’ll
only speak things that are in accordance with His will and His
Word. (Ps. 141:3)
Never hold your peace, day or night. (Is. 62:6)
Persevere in prayer and give to God your “right” to give
up.
Pray fervently. (James 5:16) Don’t just run through a
list of scriptures or the prayers below just to “get through
them” but take your time on each one and concentrate on the
desired outcome. Don’t be concerned if you spend the whole
prayer time on just one scripture.
Remember that when you pray for the lost they sometimes
seem to go the other way like Jonah when the Holy Spirit
started dealing with him. Make up your mind now to continue to
press in no matter what happens, and believe the Word of God
for them rather than looking at things on the surface level.
Remember to look at the things that are unseen, which are
eternal, rather than the things that are seen, which are
temporal. (2 Cor. 4:18)
Trust in the Lord with all
your heart and do not lean on your own insight and
understanding. (Prov.3:5)
Get in agreement with other godly people that will pray
and stand with you.
Cast your cares regarding this person or group upon the
Lord Jesus. Remember that you are not their savior—Jesus is.
(1 Pet. 5:6-7)
Pray for your own protection as you stand in faith. (Ps.
91) Pray that God will be a “wall of fire” around you and the
people that you’re praying for. (Zech. 2:5)
Believe the word that “no weapon formed against you shall
prosper.” (Is. 54:14-17)
Remember that you have a covenant with God, and that He
welcomes you to come to the throne of grace. (Heb. 4:16) Your
prayers give God the right to work in a circumstance and
situation, and this brings Him on the scene.
Remember that “our struggle is not against flesh and
blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the
world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of
wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the full
armor of God, that you may be able to resist in the evil day,
and having done everything to stand firm…” (Eph. 6:11-18)
Remember that “prayer” is the often-overlooked second
offensive weapon in addition to the Word of God. (Eph.
6:17-18)
You are a three-part being—spirit, soul, and body—and it
is important that all three parts be in agreement in prayer, not just your
spirit. (I Thess. 5:23) Hope is a key element in
getting results in prayer. Before, during, and after praying,
invest the time to get a clear picture in your mind of
what you want to happen. Attempting to believe God for
something in faith while holding a mental image of the exact
opposite thing will not bring you the results you want. [Faith
is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of
things not seen. (Heb. 11:1)] Picture this person or these
people as saved, think of what it will be like to have them in
the Kingdom, rejoice in it, and thank the Father for it.
